Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Architect

The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Architect with a deep understanding of configuring and managing GKE clusters and observability pipelines. The ideal candidate will have expertise in monitoring, logging, scripting, and deploying scalable distributed systems within cloud environments. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, proficiency with modern infrastructure tools, and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Configure and administer GKE clusters, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
  • Design and implement observability pipelines for GKE, integrating advanced monitoring and logging solutions using the Google Operations Suite.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform, optimizing deployments and resource management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect observability pipelines for GCP services like GKE, Cloud Run, and BigQuery.
  • Build and deploy code using tools such as Google Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, and Artifact Registry.
  • Optimize GCP resource usage, provide cost estimates and reports, and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks to support operational excellence.
  • Leverage scripting skills (Shell and Python) to automate tasks and streamline workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems, including Linux/UNIX and Windows environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with GKE and GCP observability tools.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud concepts including storage, compute, and networking.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and container orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, SVN) for version control and collaboration.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Shell and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA.
  • Knowledge of Kafka and OpenShift is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across global teams.
