The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our client’s team. This role involves owning all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications, participating in system and application design, and driving best practices in an agile development environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and observability tools, as well as strong scripting and automation skills.

Responsibilities:
- Own all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications.
- Participate in the design and development of systems and application programs.
- Function as a senior member of an agile team, promoting consistent development practices, tools, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.
- Work with product owners to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and manage a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience configuring and administering EKS clusters in AWS.
- Strong knowledge of configuring Splunk SaaS in AWS environments, particularly in EKS.
- Deep understanding of OpenTelemetry and configuration of OpenTelemetry Collectors.
- Strong grasp of observability concepts and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience implementing comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions in AWS using CloudWatch.
- Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Hands-on experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management.
- Proficient in shell scripting and Python.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and architecture, including Linux/UNIX and Windows operating systems, networking, and storage in cloud and traditional IT environments.
- Solid understanding of cloud concepts, including storage, compute, and networking.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect observability pipelines for AWS services such as EKS, SQS, and Firehose.
- Strong experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Artifact Registry.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining technical documentation, including Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and runbooks.

- Prior experience in an agile development environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices.
