Cloud QA Engineer
Palo Alto, CAThe Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Cloud QA Engineer to join our client's Enterprise Cloud Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will support testing of public cloud platforms and managed services across AWS and GCP environments. You will design and execute functional, regression, and performance tests, build test automation solutions, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure delivery of high-quality cloud services.

- Role: Cloud QA Engineer
- Experience: 6-9 years
- Work Location: Palo Alto, CA
- Project Duration: 12 Month Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute functional, regression, and performance tests for services deployed on AWS and GCP.
- Build and maintain test automation frameworks using tools such as JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Serenity BDD, Selenium, and Go Terratest.
- Implement and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and related tools.
- Conduct web service testing, including REST API validation, using tools like Postman and curl.
- Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Terratest, and related testing frameworks.
- Perform testing and validation across Linux environments (Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu), including system administration, networking, and service management.
- Collaborate with teams for documentation and issue tracking using Confluence and Jira.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- Strong hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and GCP), including:
- IAM
- Compute Engine
- Cloud Storage
- Pub/Sub
- Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting
- gcloud/awscli tools
- Networking
- Databases
- Kubernetes services such as GKE and EKS
- Proficiency in programming languages:
- Go
- Java / Groovy (Spring Framework experience a plus)
- Understanding of data structures, JSON, and JSONPath
- Experience with version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, SVN).
- Experience working in Linux environments with knowledge of system administration, Ansible, networking, and service management.
- Experience developing and executing automated tests using frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Serenity BDD, Selenium, and Go Terratest.
- Familiarity with web service protocols and tools for testing (HTTP/HTTPS, REST, Postman, curl).
- Experience with development tools such as IntelliJ, VS Code, or Goland.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Confluence and Jira.
- Knowledge of TLS and certificate management.
- Familiarity with performance testing methodologies and tools.
- Exposure to service management and orchestration tools.
Hourly contracting rate is anticipated to be between $50-65/hr 1099. The compensation range reflects the Company’s reasonable expectations at the time of posting. We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs.
