Infrastructure Automation Developer

Phoenix, AZ

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Software Developer to join our client’s Automation Team, focused on physical server build automation and related development initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong coding and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.

  • Role: Infrastructure Automation Developer
  • Experience: 6-9 Years
  • Work Location: Phoenix, AZ
  • Project Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions for server builds and related infrastructure tasks.
  • Write clean, testable code and create unit tests across multiple languages and frameworks.
  • Build and support APIs, front-end components, and automation pipelines.
  • Collaborate with team members on CI/CD pipeline design and source code management (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, SVN).
  • Support troubleshooting of environmental issues (firewall, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, network).
  • Contribute to OS installations and configuration using tools such as KickStart and Chef.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and align with change management best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Expertise in at least 3 of the following:
    • Python
    • API development (Flask, Swagger)
    • PHP (frontend development)
    • Django
    • Java/JavaScript
    • Bash/Shell scripting
    • VMware administration/automation
    • CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
    • PostgreSQL/MySQL
    • Linux (code and unit test development)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for infrastructure and networking issues.
  • Experience with OS installation and automation tools.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with Dell/Intel/Cisco hardware.
  • Technical knowledge of VMware vSphere installation, configuration, and ESXi 7.x/8.x administration.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Agile tools.

Experience with implementing best practices aligned to change management processes.
