Technical Analyst (Data & Analytics)

Phoenix, AZ

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Technical Analyst with strong reporting, dashboarding, and data processing capabilities. This role is responsible for transforming complex data sets into meaningful insights, developing recurring reporting solutions, and automating data workflows for efficiency. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SQL, dashboarding tools (Power BI preferred), and programming for data cleaning and integration.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Dashboarding
  • Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards using data from multiple sources.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and reliability for business and operational stakeholders.
Data Processing & Cleanup
  • Clean, normalize, and structure raw or unstructured data for reporting and analytical use.
  • Utilize techniques such as NLP and regex to manage and transform large or text-based data sets.
Trend & Insight Analysis
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends.
  • Present insights clearly to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
Automation & Data Integration
  • Develop scripts or workflows to automate recurring data tasks and reduce manual effort.
  • Interface with SQL databases and ServiceNow data sources to improve efficiency and data access.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, preferably in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
  • Exposure to programming for data cleaning or automation (Python, R, or Java preferred).
  • Experience integrating and transforming raw datasets into analytics-ready formats.
Dashboarding & Visualization
  • Experience with dashboarding platforms (Power BI preferred; Tableau acceptable).
  • Familiarity with DAX for calculated measures and data modeling is a plus.
ServiceNow / ITSM Knowledge
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, ITOM, ITAM) is preferred.
  • Understanding of ITIL or ITSM best-practice frameworks.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
  • Ability to work with large datasets and produce clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
