Microsoft Cloud Architect

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Microsoft Cloud Architect to help expand and mature our Microsoft Cloud practice. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic business insight to deliver Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technologist and trusted advisor with a strong background in Microsoft cloud architecture, digital workplace transformation, and enterprise-scale solution delivery. You’ll guide clients through design, adoption, and optimization of Microsoft cloud technologies while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, security standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Strategy & Architecture
  • Design and architect end-to-end Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Develop integrated solutions leveraging Azure, M365, Entra ID, Defender, and Purview.
  • Conduct Well-Architected Reviews, migration assessments, and security posture evaluations.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Client Solution Managers to define opportunity scope and technical approach.
Pre-Sales & Client Engagement
  • Support pre-sales activities by defining architecture, technical scope, and implementation plans.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demos, and workshops to both executive and technical audiences.
  • Provide guidance on Microsoft licensing transitions (EA to CSP), Reserved Instances, and cost optimization.
  • Assist with licensing strategy, quote validation, and onboarding for Microsoft cloud services.
Delivery Oversight & Leadership
  • Provide architectural oversight throughout delivery to ensure design integrity and consistency.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft and partner ecosystem to align on ECIF, MCI, and co-op funding opportunities.
  • Participate in go-to-market planning, customer workshops, and incentive strategy sessions.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on Microsoft 365 roadmap updates and emerging technologies (e.g., Copilot for M365, Viva Insights, Power Platform).
  • Contribute to internal practice development through documentation, training, and process improvement.
  • Develop reference architectures, accelerators, and reusable design templates.
  • Drive innovation through automation, AI integration, and process optimization within M365.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience: 15+ years in IT, including at least 8 years focused on Microsoft solutions architecture and delivery.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid cloud architecture, design, and migration.
    • Strong understanding of EA/CSP licensing models, Partner Center, and Microsoft incentives.
    • Proficiency across Modern Work (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
    • Expertise in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, and Identity Governance.
    • Knowledge of Security & Compliance tools (Purview, Defender, DLP, MIP).
    • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI integration).
    • Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Graph API).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong consulting, presentation, and documentation capabilities.
    • Experience supporting enterprise clients across multiple industries.
