Kubernetes Cloud Engineer

The Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Kubernetes Cloud Engineer to join our client’s Enterprise Cloud Operations team. This role focuses on deploying, managing, and monitoring containerized applications across both public and private cloud environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), as well as strong observability and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills are essential, as this is a customer-facing role.

  • Project Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy, manage, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in public and private cloud environments
  • Configure and manage Red Hat OpenShift and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters
  • Implement and maintain observability dashboards and metrics using Prometheus and Grafana
  • Configure alerts and monitoring to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues using observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and others
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud operations and enterprise workloads
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers regarding operational status, issues, and improvements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Advanced degree preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in public and private cloud environments
  • Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
  • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana, including dashboards, metrics, and alert configuration
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in customer-facing interactions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with service mesh technologies and advanced microservices patterns
  • Hands-on experience with technologies including:
    • Java, Go, Vert.x, JavaScript, React
    • REST APIs, gRPC, Protobuf
    • Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
    • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
    • Datastores including Postgres, Couchbase, Cassandra, Redis, and NoSQL platforms
    • Messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka and Spark
    • Observability and search platforms including Elastic Stack
    • Rules engines, data processing, or ML technologies (e.g., Drools, Spark, ML frameworks)
