Senior Backend / Platform Engineer

- Role: Senior Backend / Platform Engineer
- Experience: 6-9 Years
- Work Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
- Project Duration: 12+ Month Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
- Build and operate microservices architectures, including API gateways, service orchestration, and rate limiting
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs following best practices for scalability and security
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Workflows
- Design and deploy serverless solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
- Apply backend security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection
- Implement observability and monitoring using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve platform reliability, performance, and developer experience
Required Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
- Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Fastify or Express
- Proven experience designing and maintaining microservices-based systems
- Strong experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitHub Actions
- Solid experience with serverless architectures and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- In-depth understanding of REST API design principles
- Strong knowledge of backend security best practices
- Experience building and scaling platform-level systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of AI platform concepts such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
- Background in internal platform development or environments focused on developer productivity
