Program Manager (Governance & Risk Initiatives)

- Role: Program Manager (Governance & Risk Initiatives)
- Experience: 5+ Years
- Work Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Project Duration: 12+ Month Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate enterprise risk, governance, and control transformation initiatives across business units and functional teams
- Manage program milestones, tasks, dependencies, and reporting across large, cross-functional workstreams
- Provide regular, executive-level updates on program status, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders
- Drive delivery across key risk and compliance domains, such as operational risk, regulatory compliance, financial risk, and data governance
- Partner with governance and control leaders to define, design, and operationalize new control management functions aligned with enterprise standards
- Foster a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement across program teams
- Serve as a central point for sharing best practices, insights, and emerging themes across the organization
- Maintain strong documentation and collaboration standards using Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and related enterprise tools
- Support prioritization, planning, and coordination of multiple concurrent initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in program or project management within regulated, risk, governance, or compliance-driven environments
- Proven ability to lead complex, large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence peers and senior leaders without direct authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting and presentations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in fast-changing, ambiguous environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft SharePoint, including advanced document and collaboration management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, risk management, or regulated industries
- Background in product management or operating model design within enterprise environments
- Familiarity with enterprise governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks
- Certification in risk management, project management, or governance disciplines (e.g., CRMP, PMP, or similar)
- Experience interpreting data and producing actionable insights for leadership decision-making
