The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect with deep expertise in Node.js and React to design and drive the development of a modern, open-source enterprise web framework. This role will play a critical part in shaping scalable, high-performance web applications while enabling a large engineering community to build and deliver exceptional digital experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of an open-source, enterprise-grade web application framework.
• Architect scalable, modular, and reusable components to support large-scale application development.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and support to a broad engineering community using the framework.
• Design and implement intuitive, extensible, and high-performing APIs.
• Build cross-platform libraries and components for reuse across multiple applications and teams.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across browsers, devices, and server environments.
• Establish and maintain automation for build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring quality, maintainability, and identification of breaking changes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive best practices in software architecture, performance optimization, and code quality.
• Contribute to open-source initiatives and promote reusable design patterns across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on web application architecture.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Deep understanding of modern frontend and backend development principles.
• Experience designing and building scalable APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Familiarity with JavaScript tooling such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, and Yarn.
• Strong knowledge of DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks including unit, integration, visual, and performance testing.
• Solid understanding of web standards, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and design simple, effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and guide engineering teams.
• Experience translating business needs into scalable technical implementations.
• Hands-on experience with performance benchmarking and optimization techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience architecting high-performance, enterprise-scale web applications.
• Contributions to open-source projects or development of reusable libraries/frameworks.
• Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures and modular application design.
• Experience building and maintaining frameworks used by large engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of code-splitting, lazy loading, and modern performance optimization strategies.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
