Senior GitHub Enterprise Administrator
The Opportunity: We are seeking a Senior GitHub Enterprise Administrator to manage and enhance enterprise GitHub platforms, CI/CD capabilities, automation, and Kubernetes infrastructure. This role will focus on GitHub Enterprise administration, GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, enterprise workflows, GitHub Apps, security tooling, and cloud-native infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience managing enterprise development platforms, automating operational processes, and supporting secure and scalable software delivery environments.

- Role: Senior GitHub Enterprise Administrator
- Experience: 10+ Years
- Work Location: Phoenix, AZ (100% onsite). Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance. Relocation is not available
- Project Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support GitHub Enterprise environments, ensuring platform availability, security, and operational reliability.
- Design, manage, and maintain GitHub Actions workflows supporting applications developed in Java, Node.js, and Python.
- Configure and manage self-hosted GitHub Actions runners within GitHub Enterprise Cloud environments.
- Manage runner infrastructure, including scaling, secure execution environments, and workflow execution.
- Create, configure, and maintain enterprise-level GitHub Apps and integrations.
- Develop and manage standardized and reusable GitHub workflows across development teams.
- Automate administrative and operational activities using programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Integrate enterprise processes with GitHub REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and GitHub CLI.
- Implement and support GitHub Advanced Security capabilities across enterprise repositories and development environments.
- Support software delivery teams in implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.
- Contribute to enterprise DevOps and DevSecOps initiatives by strengthening source control, automation, and security practices.
- Administer and maintain Kubernetes environments using tools such as kubectl, Rancher, and Helm.
- Monitor Kubernetes clusters and underlying infrastructure to maintain performance, reliability, and availability.
- Design and maintain Kubernetes resource structures, including workloads, namespaces, storage, and cluster capacity.
- Monitor and optimize Kubernetes resources, including pods, nodes, namespaces, and storage utilization.
- Support GitHub Enterprise upgrades, disaster recovery planning, replication, and platform-level optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience administering GitHub Enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and enterprise GitHub administration.
- Proven experience managing self-hosted GitHub Actions runners in GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
- Experience creating and administering GitHub Apps at the enterprise level.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining enterprise-standard and reusable GitHub workflows.
- Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Experience integrating and automating GitHub environments using REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, GitHub CLI, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Advanced Security tooling.
- Strong understanding of Git, source control practices, DevOps, DevSecOps, and enterprise SDLC processes.
- Experience supporting CI/CD implementations using GitHub Actions or comparable DevOps technologies.
- Strong Kubernetes administration experience with kubectl, Rancher, and Helm.
- Experience supporting application builds and deployments involving Java, Node.js, and Python.
- Exposure to .NET and Go-based applications.
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise upgrades, replication, disaster recovery, and platform optimization.
- Experience working with GCP and GitHub Enterprise Cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes-based container platforms.
- Experience using Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Understanding of secure software delivery and enterprise DevSecOps practices.
- A senior GitHub Enterprise professional with strong hands-on administration and platform management experience.
- Someone who can design and maintain reliable GitHub Actions environments and self-hosted runner infrastructure.
- A technically strong professional capable of automating enterprise processes through scripting, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code technologies.
- Someone with solid Kubernetes administration skills who can manage, monitor, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure.
- A security-focused professional with practical experience implementing GitHub Advanced Security and DevSecOps practices.
- A proactive engineer who can support enterprise platform upgrades, resiliency, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
